Raw Snickers Bars

October 24, 2017

Feeling like treating yourself without giving your body processed, sugary food that will only leave you feeling bad about your actions? Well desserts should not be off the menu for the rest of your life! Sharee Brown creator of Sharee Anne Health & Fitness encourages people to try raw desserts, especially if sugary food has a hold on you. Its a great way to cut back on sugar and artificial preservative intake. You'll find that raw desserts can still be very sweet with such ingredients as dates and, unlike other treats, make you feel full. Most use nuts so double check if you have allergies. Below is the recipe for her Raw Snickers Bar. Give it a try at home.

Ingredients

Base Layer

  • 5 Majool Dates (previously soaked in warm water for 3+hours

  • 6 Tbsp Almond Meal.

  • 4 Tbsp of crushed Roasted Peanuts.

  • 1/3 cup of melted coconut oil.

  • 2 Tbsp Organic Peanut Butter

  • 1/2 Tsp. vanilla essence.

  • Pinch of sea salt.

Top Layer

  • 10 Majool Dates (previously soaked in warm water for 3+hours)

  • 1 Tablespoons of Organic Peanut butter

  • 1/2 Tsp. vanilla essence

  • Chopped roasted peanuts for garnishing

Chocolate Layer

  • 1/3 cup of coconut oil (melted)

  • 2 Tablespoons of cacao powder

  • Pinch of Sea salt

Method

Make Base Layer: Blend dates and coconut oil in a food processor or blender, then mix all ingredients in a bowl until a "dough" forms. If it's too dry, add more coconut oil. Pat into bar sized on baking paper then place in the freezer whilst.

Top Layer. Combine all ingredients (except chopped peanuts) in a blender. Take out freezer bases and spread mixture onto base and place into the freezer for until set.

Once frozen you can make the Chocolate Layer. Mix all ingredients until blended. Dip your bars into them until coated all over (you might need to reheat chocolate mix after coating a few as coconut oil goes too hard once it starts to cool). You can garnish with peanuts again then put in freezer until set. Keep refrigerated once ready.

ENJOY!!
